Memory of long-gone times. Such a painting could once be seen anywhere. But in this episode, I described a memorable moment and a specific temporal and geographical segment. The railway to Tsarskoye Selo. Mid-18th to early 19th century. I was in this place only once, and that was recently. But as the work continued, I felt like I had been there many, many times. I tried to depict this memorable place and time with the silent consent of the thinker. Canvas on stretcher, painting created with oil. In the fan technique, in vaitha style. One of my best compositions. And the most complex to execute to date.
